Abstract: This research investigates the impact of multicultural education on adult learners. Multicultural education is critical for fostering understanding and respect among diverse populations, enhancing social cohesion. The objectives were to assess the effectiveness of multicultural education in promoting intercultural understanding, to evaluate the impact on learners' attitudes towards diversity, and to identify challenges in implementing multicultural education. A survey research design was employed to gather data from participants in multicultural education programs, offering a comprehensive analysis of its impacts. A sample size of 310 adult learners was selected to provide a diverse range of perspectives. The purposive sampling technique was used to target individuals from various cultural backgrounds. The case study was conducted in Cross River, Nigeria, where multicultural education programs are actively promoted. Findings indicated that multicultural education significantly improved intercultural understanding and reduced prejudices among learners. However, challenges such as resistance to change and language barriers were identified. The study recommended increasing the integration of multicultural content in adult education programs and addressing language barriers to facilitate better communication.
